Usual update

Well, well. Alton tower was great. The rides were great. Thrills just to see it. Great to be on it. Dizzy after got down from it. Fun experience overall. Suggested anyone going there to buy a fast track for scream. Would save you lots of time.
Liverpool was soso. Nothing much cuz i didnt plan where to go ahaha. Main thing of the trip probably is the Anfield stadium. It was smaller than I thought, at least from the imagination I have from watching the premiere league. It was fun anyway. Saw the stadium, the room where players would gather, room where the press conference is held. They were all smaller than I thought ahahaha.
Going on to blackpool. The city was seaside, but I never expected it to be kinda like Pattaya, which it kinda did. But English city is anyhow English. Shops and stores started closing down at 10pm. By 11, only the pub and clubs were left. The lights were good to see even though we didnt take the tram tour.

And for the unexpected event this time around. Our house got robbed for the first time.
This is how it happened.

Last year of undergrad's life

It just so came to my attention that I have around 8 months left of my undergrad's life so I want to make the best out of this time left.
Just came back from Samaggi Summit in Edinburgh in the name of a Nottingham representative. It's great to meet all these great people from all over the UK, most of them postgrads. We discussed about Samaggi activities this year which include of course the Samaggi game, the biggest event of Thai students in UK. Last year there were 2k people in Notts :D Then there's academic conference, showing off Thai students' work in research in every field, and there's recreational event like concert which brings a Thai band to UK to perform. This year we also discussed the constitution of Samaggi and how it should be governed. It's pretty amazing to see how these PhD think so differently from us lol.
Anyway, this year the Samaggi game's held in Bath (YESSS!!) Chance for me to finally visit the stonehenge ahaha.
Will hopefully get to see these wonderful people again sometime.
Other stuff in the time being... so far so good. Next week, alton tower, the theme park will be visited. Organized by Thai soc. Over a hundred people attending already. Gosh. Must be a mess if something goes wrong. Anyway, I'll do my best and a week after that, Blackpool illumination festival and Liverpool :D:D:D
It's the last 8 months already so
football match -- to be seen
concerts, gigs, live band -- to be attended and played
more Europe -- to be toured
First honor -- to be received ;)

Here's one of the last event I'll probably attend in Notts, the goose fair.

Moving in

First entry since I'm back to the UK ! Well, the most exciting part will probably be moving into a house of our (rented) own. How's it better than living in a dorm?
Internet!!!!
Thats probably the only reason lol. Dorm's internet (particularly in Uni park) blocks bittorrent and any kind of file sharing web (ie rapidshare, mediafire) and that's infringement to one's access to information! lol
Now I'm in a house, freedom is mine. 50 mbps!!! (I'm so gonna laughing at this pathetic speed when I read this blog 10 years from now, lol)
50 seems extremely fast doesnt it. In fact it's not really that fast. Due to the unstability of virgin broadband network, the internet connection sometimes just sucks to the point i couldnt even open facebook. Other times of course includes downloading torrent at 2 mb/s.
TV is included in the broadband package. After a year in UK, i finally get to consume british media -_-" Fees of all these include the package fee (broadband + cable TV): 46/month
TV license fee: 140/year
Hi-def 32" Samsung TV: 320 pounds.

Next the cost of living is reduced dramatically when everything is shared. Last year, I spent at least 30 pounds every week for the groceries. Now the average cost for a week is only 25 or so. The best part is that when we order more than 100 pounds worth, Sainsbury deliver for free!!
Heck, now we don't even have to go out to shop for grocers lol. I mean right in front of your home. Even if it's not free, the deliver cost still outweighs our transportation cost anyway.

Oh, I almost forgot another best part. The faculty of engineering is now 5 minutes of walking away from my home.

The vids just show you around the house. I live on the ground floor. Jeed and Toey and the first floor (British convention). Meen on the third. House looks abit messier than recorded.

That's sainsbury's stuff in our living room delivered.
